ASHBOURNE COLLEGE DRAMA AUDITIONS – PLACES AND SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE
This event will take place at Ashbourne College at 6pm on Wednesday 23rd April. Over recent years Ashbourne has developed a very strong programme in Drama and Theatre Studies to A-level. Our Drama students come from a wide range of different backgrounds and experiences ranging from leading London theatre schools to impressive amateurs with no formal experience.
Ashbourne takes Drama and Theatre Studies very seriously and so holds auditions for places. The purpose of the audition is twofold:
To ensure the quality of the students on the programme
To offer scholarships to candidates with exceptional academic ability and acting talent. Last year for instance we offered three 100% scholarships. Should we be similarly impressed again this year we will offer further full scholarships and also scholarships worth 50% and 25% of our tuition fees
The audition will take the form of a 3 minute monologue selected and performed by the applicant, a brief interview to discuss the piece and some improvisation work conducted under the supervision of our acting teacher.
We expect our Drama students, and especially our scholars, to play a full and active role in college life. In particular our annual College Revue, a talent show involving over 50% of our student body. For highlights footage of recent shows please see the video section of this website.
