Arts and Media

The Arts and Media subjects that Ashbourne College offers are among the most exciting, innovative and creative in the college. Offering a uniquely broad range of subjects for a sixth form college, students are able to study anything from Film Studies and Media Studies to Graphics, Photography, Fine Art, Textiles and the History of Art. Gina Fiori has headed the Art department for over ten years with unfailing enthusiasm and energy, overseeing the technical and creative potential of her students at every stage of their development. The art department is rich in experience with teachers such as Sheila Cosgrove, who teaches Textiles and Jak Kirby, who teaches Graphics and Photography.

Dennis Fulcher, a life-long film enthusiast, oversees the Film and Media department with an innovative and passionate approach, making full use of the college's state-of-the-art interactive facilities. He works closely with Wesley Rykalski, who teaches Media Studies, in developing new learning methods such as blogs and other internet resources.
