Monday 15th February
Monday was a National Holiday in Athens, and as it is traditional to go kite flying in the park, so Ashbourne joined the locals too! Everyone in the park was celebrating and there were food stalls, live music and gifts for sale. But instead of getting completely distracted by this, we also wanted to give kite flying a go! Working as teams, we put together the kites which Shaheena and Hannah had brought and attempted to fly them.although this didn't last too long!
With such beautiful weather, it was a perfect opportunity to visit the beach and after quite a long trip to the coast, we arrived in Vouliagmenis beach. There, we were welcomed by Jo and Veronica who had set up a lovely picnic for us.
The afternoon was spent relaxing and playing beach games together: the tug of war, stuck in the mud, sandcastles, and football - it was a lot of fun!
