Sunday 14th February
After meeting at 9.30am and having breakfast which was provided by the hostel, we embarked to the Acropolis. Being 15 degrees, it was a welcoming change to the snowy temperatures of London!
We spent the morning at the Acropolis, exploring the ruins and taking in the ancient history. It was another perfect picture moment, and the students happily snapped away.
To compliment the morning's activities, in the afternoon, we visited the Acropolis Museum, which contained monuments and ruins salvaged from the surrounding area. It was incredibly interesting and there was a lot to be learnt.
As Sunday was a day of several celebrations; it was Carnival weekend in Greece, Lunar New Year and Valentines Day, we got dressed up to celebrate, with masks and funky face paint. Then we ventured out for dinner to a great Greek restaurant which had live music and where we could all dance too. After tucking into a delicious dinner, the boys surprised the girls with red roses and the staff handed out red envelopes to all students to celebrate Tet.
