Easter Revision courses at Ashbourne have improved every year. Our aim at Easter is to motivate students to strive for the highest grades at A level and GCSE, and to develop independence with self-reliance. Rather than working passively and unsupervised at home, students who enroll on the A level or GCSE courses are directed in their revision in small groups.
The result is an excellent level of enjoyable and stimulating interaction and participation, promoting active, effective and efficient revision.
As a private college, Ashbourne is able to offer classes that average 5 students per group. Focusing first on core topics, where straightforward 'easy' marks should not be missed, our small groups at both A level and GCSE allow ample time for students to discuss their specific difficulties.
Revision lessons make continual reference to specimen questions, past papers and examiners' reports providing detailed information on the requirements of each paper. Sample questions completed under supervised and timed conditions build confidence. Confidence breeds success.
Teaching is focused on preparing students for their examinations, with the intensive programme at A level and GCSE covering 80 per cent of core syllabus requirements of most examination boards.
Our revision tutors have many years' experience providing intensive exam-oriented revision. The majority of the tutors are full or part-time teachers at the College at A level and GCSE and are all exceptionally qualified.
After the completion of the course, students will receive a constructive and informative report, focusing on their strengths, weaknesses and any areas that require particular attention or improvement for A level and GCSE exams.
Ashbourne provides students with a course pack comprising of useful tips for active and effective revision in addition to over a hundred past paper questions and answers on relevant topics.
