Café Pasta
Further along the High Street, Café Pasta is a reputed chain. They do a very affordable lunch menu where you can have any pizza for £6.00. The best pizza, for those who like meat is the ‘Carne’, which is topped with wild boar sausage – hugely tasty and filling. The restaurant is clean, modern and stylish, the staff are very friendly.
Postino’s
Another Italian restaurant down the High Street, Postino’s has recently undergone a revamp. It used to be called Scoff’s. Scoff was the old Italian owner who you could have a chat with, but now he’s gone. The place seems less authentic these days but the food is still excellent and the staff are very warm. The pasta dishes are very good but you’d probably be paying about £10 for a main course.
Strada
Strada is two minutes away from the college on the High Street. It is generally an average chain; the pizzas are overpriced but decent and the service can often be half-hearted and lethargic but the atmosphere is pleasant and the pasta can be exceptional at times. |
