Overview

The BMAT (Biomedical Admissions Test - www.bmat.org.uk) is a two-hour exam made up of three sections:

1) Aptitude and Skills (multiple choice and short answer questions) – 60 minutes
2) Scientific Knowledge and Applications (multiple choice and short answer questions) – 30 minutes
3) Writing Task (short essay question) – 30 minutes

The BMAT takes place once a year (November) and costs £31 (£54 for international students). Applicants must register for the test by 30th September. Ashbourne is a registered test centre for the BMAT. Applicants will receive the results by the start of December. The Universities which require applicants to take the BMAT test are Cambridge, Imperial, Oxford, the Royal Vet College and University College London.
