A group of students from the A Level Art department set out early from Waterloo for their day trip to Paris. The Art Department had organised a visit to the Musee D’Orsay to see first hand examples and have a closer look at the real artwork of the impressionist period. Many photographs were taken for students to bring back and use for their own art projects. The group proceeded to see some of Paris’ most famous sights, including the crystal pyramid outside the Louvre and the Centre Pompidou. It was a most enjoyable day in which students and teachers alike were allowed to bond in an out-of-college atmosphere. These trips are of great importance to the students and overall ethos of the college as they allow students to engage with their subject further and enhance their knowledge of the art world and other cultures. |
