| Kensington Gardens |
Ashbourne borders Kensington Gardens, a beautiful, peaceful place to relax in the summer. It has formal avenues of magnificent trees and ornamental flowerbeds. 178 different species of birds live here. The park is home to the Albert Memorial, the Peter Pan statue, and the Serpentine Gallery; one of London’s best loved venues for modern and contemporary art. In the summer there are open-air performances of JM Barrie’s Peter Pan. Over 170 different species of birds live here but the most famous resident ever was the late Diana, Princess of Wales who lived in Kensington Palace. Visitors can follow the Princess Diana memorial walk into the Princess Diana Memorial playground.
