Michael Kirby

Mike
Kirby founded Ashbourne in 1981 and has since presided
over its continuing academic development and growth
in reputation. Educated at the Universities of Toronto
and London, where he read Aerospace Engineering and
Statistics, he is a key figure in the promotion of
independent education in the UK through bodies such
as the Conference for Independent Further Education
(CIFE) and the British Council Education Counselling
Service. |

John Wilson

John Wilson was educated at The
Queen’s College, Oxford University and Homerton
College, Cambridge University. He joined Ashbourne
in 2000 as a Biology and Science teacher and is now
in his second spell with us; rejoining as Director
of Studies in 2005. John is a member of the Institute
of Biology and has previously been Head of Sixth
Form and Head of Biology at Ashbourne. He also has
experience of teaching science in the maintained
sector at schools in the UK.

Lee Kirby

Lee
Kirby read Business Studies at the University of
Surrey and undertook a qualification as a counsellor
with Merton Council. He has lived and worked abroad
and is, therefore, ideally suited in his role as
the College’s Director of Overseas Admissions
acting as the first point of contact for international
students. Lee’s passion for football has led
him to play semi-professionally and professionally
in the UK and Vietnam respectively. Lee is also a
qualified FA Coach. He has also organised music events
in his capacity as the former director of an entertainment
company and continues to contribute to the annual
talent show: the School Revue.
