Theology

Please note that Ashbourne does not offer this course to study at degree level

Overview

Religion is a major factor shaping the world in which we live - you can't understand the world without understanding religion. All religions raise ethical and philosophical questions, which are among the most basic and important we face as human beings. Theology draws on a wide range of intellectual disciplines: history, languages, philosophy, sociology, cultural studies, art history, and others. Good theology engages with the political, cultural and social issues that affect our lives. Theology stretches students’ intellectual abilities to the full. Students will work as historians, literary critics and philosophers, and acquire skills attractive to employers and relevant for a wide range of careers.
