Art & Design students visit Tate Modern & Banksid Gallery

Our Year 12 Art & Design students from Graphics Communication, Fashion & Textiles and Fine Art visited Tate Modern and the Banksid Gallery as part of their art carousel project. The theme is Pattern & Texture. The artist we went to see was the feminist weaving artist Anni Albers, who was revolutionary in her time during the 1930s. The students gained first-hand primary research content for their projects which will form part of the performance art piece at Ashbourne's Christmas Revue. Some of our international students had not been to the Tate Modern before, so it was a good benchmark to orientate them to one of London's most famous free galleries. We know that they will visit it many times over their time with us.
