Mike Kirby is our commander and chief. Mike founded Ashbourne College in 1981 and has since presided over its continuing academic development and growth in reputation. Educated at the Universities of Toronto and London, where he read Aerospace Engineering and Statistics, Mike is a key figure in the promotion of independent education in the UK.
Lee Kirby As director of operations at Ashbourne, Lee oversees all administrative departments and ensures that things at the college run smoothly. He has the unenviable task of organising Ashbourne’s busy timetables, so any timetable queries should be directed to him. Do you want to know more about Ashbourne Team?
Fabio It’s fair to say that Fabio is the glue that holds the day-to-day running of Ashbourne College together, as premises and IT manager. He is an ex-professional footballer who manages to incorporate coaching the Ashbourne team, who train every Tuesday night, into his hectic schedule!
Shaheena is originally from Mauritius and speaks fluent French. She is in charge of Ashbourne’s Admissions team. Admissions is a very busy department, which is expertly organized by Shaheena who always has a smile on her face and a fabulous pair of shoes on her feet!
Anh, Alexia and Uyen work with Shaheena in the Admissions Department in the college, these lovely girls help to run the busy Admissions team and are always keen to join in with every aspect of Ashbourne life, most recently joining the trip to Saddlers Wells to see West Side Story.
Huong manages Ashbourne’s finances but as well as managing students’ fees and querys, she is also a friend to everyone. Originally from Vietnam, Huong is an Ex- Asher herself (in fact she even met her husband here!!) so she particularly relates to overseas students and is always available to give help and advice.
Annabel- Can be found at Ashbourne Young Street reception. She has recently traded in a career in Musical Theatre for a place at Oxford University, studying Philosophy and Theology. He also coaches the football team with Fabio and is a keen (if slightly deluded) Liverpool fan!
Dane Is charge of all things fun at Ashbourne, he is an entertaining ex- cricket player who runs the exciting poetry and drama magazine “Black and Blue” and queries about Ashbourne’s extra-curricular activities should be directed to him. He is also welcomes suggestions for new clubs (the stranger, the better!!)
