The Ashbourne Allstars are off to the CIFE Football Tournament!

It’s that time of year again! The Ashbourne Allstars are heading off to the famous St George’s Park training ground today, to take part in the Annual CIFE Football Tournament. Just in case you’re unfamiliar with how it all works, here’s a reminder.
What happens on the day?
The team headed out early to arrive and register at the grounds for about 10.30am. Once registered, the group stages kick off at around 11am. If everything runs to schedule, the quarter finals should start just before 4pm; the semifinals are scheduled from 4.30pm, and the final is expected to be played at about 4.45pm. The day will be rounded off with a trophy ceremony, which is due to happen at about 5pm.
Who will be playing?
The Annual CIFE Football Tournament is open to all CIFE colleges. This year, the competition will be attended by MPW (London and Birmingham), DLD, CATS College, Brookehouse, CCSS, Bosworth, Oxford Tutorial College, Oxford International College, Cherwell College, Collingham, Bales, Bath Academy and CTC.
So do the Ashbourne Allstars have a shot at the trophy?
Coach Carpene thinks they do! Having come 4th in the tournament for the last two years, this could very well be their year. But the team will have to work hard to be in with a chance of winning this time around.
Here’s a picture of last year’s team at the grounds! Keep an eye on Twitter for updates on how the guys are getting on.
