Here’s what happened at the Ashbourne College annual trip to Winter Wonderland!

Last Thursday 3rd December started off as a cool, cloudy night in London, and 25 staff and students were feeling the Christmas spirit as they set off together for the final trip of the term – Ice Skating at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland!
Winter Wonderland is the best place to be for anyone who loves Christmas, especially on a weeknight. This gives you a chance to avoid the crowds and go at a time where you are actually able to move among the attractions! We arrived just before 7pm to the sound of Christmas music and the swish of skates on the rink. Excitement was rife and spirits were high as the students donned their skates and headed out onto the ice. There was a mix of skill levels, from ice rink novice to figure skating queens! The most wonderful thing to see was the way the more expert skaters guided the less confident around the ice, pulling the shyer students in to whizz around with their groups. Even the outbreak of rain couldn’t dampen the Asher spirit!
The night ended on a high with a group photograph in front of the rink before the students dispersed to carry on their fun around the park. It was a wonderful night, and one that will hopefully be repeated in the years to come!
