Ashbourne College made history at this year’s CIFE quiz, by winning the cup for the first time ever!
Now in it’s third year, 11 out of the 20 CIFE colleges took part this time around, making for a very lively competition. The quiz took place at the New College of Humanities based in Bloomsbury, and involved both year 12 and year 13 students.
The CIFE quiz tests general knowledge in a wide range of topics, so there was a good opportunity for everyone to chip in throughout. Team Ashbourne came second in the first round of the competition, followed by an even stronger second round which saw them take first place. The team came fourth in the third round, but were incredibly proud of their consistent effort throughout. The winning team was made of Jiazheng Zhu, Christina Childs, Alexander Longmuir, Agatha Wiener and Elin Johnson.
Winning the overall competition meant so much to the students, who now have the opportunity to go to the House of Lords on April 24th to witness the Lords in session, as well as have some tea! The best part about it is that our very own principal Mike Kirby will be accompanying them!
Congratulations team Ashbourne. We can’t wait to hear about the trip to the House of Lords!
