Ashbourne College does Movember

This year, Ashbourne College is taking part in 'Movember', an annual charitable event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues. Since 2003, Movember has grown into a global movement with more than 6 million participants and helped fund 1,250 men's health projects worldwide.

Ashbourne Movember
By participating in Movember, we aim to raise funds for two charities this year. The first is the Movember charity itself, with funds raised going towards supporting innovative world-class men's health projects – prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention. The second is Save the Children, chosen by the Student Council.
Established in 1919, Save The Children aims to improve the lives of children through better healthcare, education, and by providing aid during emergencies. In their words: “In the UK and around the world we make sure children are safe and healthy. We support them to learn, grow and become who they want to be.” In 2019, of the total £309 million raised, £271 million contributed towards charitable activities, supporting 9.5 million children from around the world. They currently have an appeal up on their website for children and families affected by the Coronavirus.
We welcome all students, teachers, staff members, alumni, parents and guardians to join us with this charitable initiative. You can donate either at the reception of our three buildings or on our Just Giving - Ashbourne's Movember page.

We'll be voting for the most impressive facial hair at the end of the month and there will be a prize for the winner! In the meantime, here are some contenders for the Ashbourne's Movember winner prize.
