Loud Guide to University
Loud is a free online magazine which is available 5 times per year for all 6th formers and college students. It contains vital information about university course opportunities, fees and finance, applying for uni and other options students might consider such as apprenticeships.

Applications to university taster courses are now open on the University Taster Course Programme website.
Over 160 FREE university taster courses are offered in a variety of subjects taking place at numerous universities across London.

Legal Outreach Spring Workshop
Wednesday 26th February, 1pm - 5pm
The Spring Workshop is an inter-school, interactive programme which gives students a detailed insight on pursuing Law as an undergraduate degree. The workshop will be divided into 4 main sessions, which are:
1. UCAS, LNAT, & Careers Session
2. Taster sessions of university subjects, namely Criminal Law, Tort Law, Intellectual Property Law, Human Rights Law and Contract Law. This would involve an overview of the subject with a problem question involving a set of facts in a case.
3. Mooting Session which would involve a demonstration moot from some of our university’s top mooters 4. Critical Thinking and Current Affairs Session

The Careers Challenge
Pro Arts presents The Careers Challenge. An interactive workshop based on improving Employability skills and Career knowledge for young people. It is fun, interactive, and inspires young people to make positive choices about their future.

On Monday 13th, we will receive the visit of Laura Nelson who will tell you about NCS and The Challenge. The Challenge is a charity similar to the Duke of Edinburgh.
Laura Nelson will be visiting all the Personal Tutoring Groups and PSHE, so make sure you are present!

Music Study Day

This Music Study Day at University College is for Year 12s who are seriously considering reading Music at university.
Participants will experience some of the teaching and learning styles used at Oxford and take a hands-on approach to studying some unfamiliar repertoire, with plenty of opportunity to engage with current Oxford Music students. French film essay competition
The Faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages at Oxford University is looking for budding film enthusiasts in Years 7-11 and 12-13 to embrace the world of French cinema. To enter the competition, students in each age group are asked to re-write the ending of a film in no more than 1500 words.
There’s a first prize of £100 for the winning student in each age group, with runner-up prizes of £25.
