Ashbourne West Side Story Trip 17th September 2013 at 7.30 - Sadler's Wells
WEST SIDE STORY is broadly accepted as the finest piece of Musical Theatre writing of the 20th century AND the lucky students at Ashbourne College have the opportunity to take an evening off A Level homework and enjoy what promises to be the best show in town!
The production at Sadler's Wells has completely sold out BUT Ashbourne has managed to organise a limited number of discounted tickets (AND SOME OF THEM ARE STILL UP FOR GRABS!!!) This is an exciting opportunity for Ashbourne A Level college students and staff to enter the world of passion, conflict and romance on the streets of 1950s Upper West Side New York. (For a sneak preview )

Sondheim, Shakespeare, Bernstein, a company of outstanding dancers and singers and a world-class orchestra come together to entertain, move and astonish in this utterly unmissable London production. “America”, “I Feel Pretty” “Somewhere” and “Gee Officer Krupke” are just a few of the unforgettable songs that will be enjoyed during the retelling of “Romeo and Juliet” at world-famous venue, Sadler's Wells. In this energetic version of the tragedy, the Capulets are represented fiery Puerto Rican "Sharks" who's feud with the white-American gang, "The Jets" (Montagues) unfolds while our 'Star crossed lovers' Tony and Maria search for "Somewhere" to live and love in peace. This iconic show simply must be seen at least once in a lifetime, not only for the passionate music, timeless choreography and stylish storytelling, but also for the powerful insight into the perennial problem of prejudice.
We are going NEXT TUESDAY (17th September) and the tickets and limited (and getting snapped up very quickly), so any Ashbourne Students who do not want to miss out, or would like some more information should contact Annabel on 02073760360, at Young Street reception or via email at [email protected] .
