Everything you need to know about the End of Year Awards 2017!

Time certainly does fly here at Ashbourne College! It feels like only yesterday that we said goodbye to our 2016 year 13 students; now we’re getting ready to do it all over again.
The End of Year Awards is a chance for students to celebrate with their peers before the whirlwind of exams takes full hold. It’s also a time to highlight achievement, and each faculty awards students that they feel have really excelled. Here’s what to expect on the night. Ashbourne College EOY Awards 2017
The place to be...
The Ashbourne College End of Year Awards will be taking place at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in Kensington on Friday 26th May, 7pm. It’s the same venue we used last year, and because we loved it so much, we booked it again!
It’s now SO easy to confirm your attendance!
Thanks to our activities coordinator Steph, we are now using Eventbrite to help us manage the event. Students can confirm their attendance, pay for tickets (£30), choose seating AND meal options online via Eventbrite. For those who have yet to sign up and pay, follow this link for the details: Ashbourne College End of Year Awards 2017 Eventbrite
You are invited if…
You are a year 13 student or a member of staff. But not to worry. All other students will get their chance to attend an event when they reach their final year!
Is there a dress code?
There most certainly is. This is a formal black tie event, and we’re expecting you to go all out! So if you have an outfit in the back of your wardrobe that has always seemed too fancy for any occasion you have been to thus far, wear that!
What happens on the night?
Not only can guests expect a delicious 3 course meal, the much loved chocolate fountain will be back! There will of course be speeches from the usual suspects (Mike and Lee!), and a DJ will help everyone dance the meal off afterwards. For those of you who want a snapshot of the night as a mementos, there will also be a photobooth with the most glorious props.
And the awards?
Each faculty gives out 3 awards; a bronze, a silver and the much coveted gold award. Whether there will be a ‘Student of the Year’ award this year is yet to be undecided; but students will also have the chance to award their peers for fun things such as ‘best dressed’ and ‘most likely to be the next reality TV star’.
The finishing touches are being applied as we speak, and it’s shaping up to be an event to remember. If you haven’t already grabbed your ticket, you can sign up here
