Amy Hyam was one of Ashbourne’s brightest stars in A level art. She joined us in September 2014, and immediately displayed an incredible talent and an eye for intricate detail that made her work stand out.
Amy scooped the Park Gallery Prize for Drawing and Painting at Leighton House during her time here , resulting in her work being displayed for 6 months at a local business. Her amazing work was part of many of Ashbourne’s events, including the Creative Arts Exhibition in March. This is why it came as no surprise to hear of her involvement in this year’s Art Explosion competition in association with the Saatchi Gallery.
Earlier this year, artists were invited to submit work for a chance to have it exhibited in the Saatchi Gallery. There were over 90 submissions in total, including works of photography, textiles and paintings.
The purpose of the competition is to promote the art of young artists in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, and to also reward them for their outstanding work.
One of the judges on the panel was Rozenn Logan, Head of Education at the Saatchi Gallery, and though the competition was very stiff, we are pleased to announce that Amy Hyam was one of the prize winners.
Congratulations Amy! We’re looking forward to hearing about what you’ll do next!
