Ashbourne’s Photo Competition 2021 – Winners Announced!

Over the February Half-term, the Student Council at Ashbourne has successfully launched a Photography Competition. The competition was open to all current Ashbourne students who were joining our online lessons from their homes in the UK and different parts of the world.

The competition aims to encourage students to be more creative outdoors and take a chance to explore the hidden beauties in their cities. The ongoing COVID situation in the UK significantly limited the opportunities for our students to interact in person. However, through this photo competition, our students were able to reconnect with their friends with their visual stories.
We were so impressed with the number and quality of entries for this competition. It is also fantastic to see such a wide range of sceneries, colours and photographic techniques that our students chose for their submissions. Undoubtedly, the judging panel had a difficult time choosing only three winners out of such high-standard entries!
Khanh, whose photograph of the Vietnamese skyline was awarded first place. Mentions also go to Saskia and Baseera, whose photographs were voted second and third place respectively.

The Photography Competition was successful beyond our expectations and we look forward to organising another one in this academic year. Watch this space for further updates and announcements!
