The Ashbourne Allstars have had a fantastic season so far, and their first match after half term against MPW was set to see them continue their winning streak. But things took an unexpected turn after the second half. Here's how the game played out.
Team line-up:
Charlie - Goalkeeper
Ali - Defender
Illya - Defender
Barry - Midfielder
Marwan - Midfielder
Antonio - Midfielder
Alex - Midfielder
Djordje - Striker
The Ashbourne Allstars went down 5-2 against rivals MPW in what was a strange scoreline. The Allstars started the game with 6 players and did extremely well for the first 15 mins keeping their shape and the score at 1-0, with MPW making the 2 man advantage count.
Shortly after 15 mins, Barry and Antonio entered the game and the Allstars started to play some really good football and dominated the game.
The Allstars equalised with a great goal from Djordje put through with a pin point accurate pass from Antonio.
Very soon after in what was the goal of the game, a great goal from Antonio to make it 2-1 after a long pass from Marwan and a set from Djordje, finished emphatically by Antonio on the half volley, almost ripping the net.
The Allstars went in at half time 2-1 up and were completely in control of the game.
MPW equalised 10 mins into the 2nd half and soon went in front after some great play. 2 more goals were added late on for MPW who took the 3 points.
The scoreline didn't reflect the effort and the players came off dejected in defeat.
Well done to MPW.
