What students and parents have to say about Ashbourne’s Easter Revision courses
I’ve always struggled with Maths and Science but I actually felt I was top of it after completing the GCSE revision course at Ashbourne. The revision packs are great, with loads of past papers and topic summaries and the tutors make sure that everyone understands everything.
I had a lot of doubts about the course before I started. All the staff were very helpful but I couldn’t see how I could significantly improve my understanding in one week. I found though that the small classes and the clear and practical teaching have made all the difference and I’m really confident of getting As now. Exam technique was the best part of the course. It’s surprising how many marks you can pick up just by learning how to answer questions.
I wasn’t so happy that my father booked me onto a revision course over Easter but it was amazing! The teachers were excellent, particularly in Chemistry. When I’d finished the course, I understood so much more and the revision ahead seemed so much less daunting. The best thing was the amount of time the tutors are willing to spend patiently explaining areas I didn’t understand. By the end, I was wondering what exactly had seemed so hard!
I have just had my first mock since attending the Easter Revision at Ashbourne and my tutor has said that she can already see a major improvement. I will definitely come back next year!
My son came home happy every evening, and left happy in the morning, which is unusual for him! He has only positive things to say about the course, feels much better prepared and absolutely LOVED his teacher!
I found the course really interesting and very useful. I especially liked the course packs, they were really practical, and I feel a lot more prepared for my exams now.
I really enjoyed the programme as I believe it helped me a lot during my revision process and I would happily do it again for A levels. I was very satisfied with the courses overall. The structure was very beneficial as it gave enough time to do a lot of work and believed that I was actually helping my grades out and I wasn’t bothered to wake up early to do revision. I liked that there was many courses to choose from and the three course that I completed made me feel more confident. I would and already have recommended Ashbourne’s courses to friends and family as I honestly believe it was worth the money.
Treated with kindness and respect whilst being taught to grow as an individual personally and academically

My time at Ashbourne was a fun and exciting experience. It had a very relaxed atmosphere which helped me settle in very well. The College’s approach to teaching in the classrooms was very different to traditional 6th form Colleges and a lot more informal which I believe was a great aid in developing my skills in independent study. During my time as a student at Ashbourne, I was passionate about physics and maths as well as music. My teachers and other staff members were very supportive of this and were an incredible assistance in helping me find an ideal course at university which catered to my interest. Thanks to Ashbourne I went on to do a joint degree in Physics and Music at Cardiff University. I graduated in 2018 and have remained at Cardiff to do a masters in Astrophysics.
Ashbourne has broadened my academic and personal horizons beyond any expectation I may have had when I first arrived here. I think a good school gets you where you want to go, but an outstanding school takes you to a place beyond what you would ever have envisaged for yourself, and therefore I can only describe Ashbourne as an outstanding and incredible place to study. As planned, having finished my A levels, I am now entering into my gap year in order to pursue my entrepreneurial ambitions. I intend to gain work experience in the business sector im entering into, in hope to build a strong foundation of authentic understanding and knowledge of the industry, on which I hope to build a successful business in the near future
Has been given the opportunity to study in a focused and mature way and has thrived in that environment

All of the Ashbourne teachers are very kind and friendly. Our principle Mike really helped me a lot in my university application. I got many unforgettable experiences at Ashbourne such as UKMT Maths Challenge and UKMT Team Maths Challenge. I want to say thank you to all the teachers and staff who helped me in these two years
Your experience at Ashbourne will most certainly be informative, but its zenith is educational. To be informed is to be empowered, but to be educated is to be enlightened
If I had to describe Ashbourne in three words it would be welcoming, intimate, and fun. I have never met such an eclectic group of people who all get on and are integrated with each other so well. It’s a great opportunity to get the grades that you want alongside gaining confidence and maturity
