Ashbourne College was founded 1981 and has since grown into one of the best private sixth form colleges in London for A levels and GCSEs. Our students consistently achieve outstanding A level exam results, (50% A*/A over the past 5 years), helping us to remain in the top two of similar private high schools in London for many years. Ashbourne is also placed in the top 5% of UK schools and colleges that offer A levels as a result of the level of performance improvement we achieve, or ‘value added’. More than half of our graduates go on to study at Russell Group universities, including Oxford and Cambridge.
Our aim is to help students develop their self confidence both personally and academically so they can achieve the very best results and take responsibility for their own success.

We work closely with each student to carve out a unique education programme that best suits their needs and ambitions, offering them the flexibility, choice and comprehensive support and guidance necessary to reach their goals.
We are currently running an online distance learning programme for all of our students, delivering live streamed audio-visual lessons in which allows interaction between teachers and students.
Ashbourne embraces a friendly, informal but disciplined, adult approach to education. Students take lessons in small groups where they are encouraged to explore and test their ideas with the teacher and other students, becoming more independent thinkers. The small class sizes enable our teachers to offer greater individual attention, set more homework and provide feedback.
Students are offered extensive support outside of the classroom through weekly personal tutor sessions, subject-specific clinics, support classes and peer group mentoring. They work closely with their teachers, personal tutors and the director of studies to monitor and discuss their academic performance and progress throughout their time at the college.
Personal tutors also provide students with one-to-one support and expert guidance on the entire university application process, including work on Unifrog, an online platform that allows students to continue working on their university applications remotely.
The college complements its academic excellence with an exciting programme of extra-curricular activities for all tastes including its well-loved annual Revue, showcasing creative arts and music. We run Ashbourne Allstars football club, critical theory seminars and a wide range of other clubs from astro-particle physics and chess to Bollywood dancing and meditation.
Ashbourne is superbly located on the borders of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens, in the heart of London. We welcome students from all over the world and offer more than 25 subjects at A level, together creating a diversity of ideas, talents, personalities and culture at the college.
We believe that student happiness is our greatest achievement.
