Ashbourne High School, London
International students

Ashbourne is one of the best private high schools in London and has been delivering highly successful A level courses for more than 35 years. We offer outstanding opportunities to students who will benefit from the individual support, choice and flexibility we provide to help students reach the highest grades and achieve their personal and academic goals.

  • Strong exam results – 47% A*A (2019)
  • Individual attention
  • Excellent pastoral care
  • Outstanding university preparation
  • 54% at Russell Group universities
  • Superb location

Our students consistently achieve excellent exam results which has helped Ashbourne remain in the top two of similar private high schools for many years. More than 50% of our graduates go on to study at world-class UK universities including Oxford and Cambridge, Imperial College, University College London and LSE. These results are truly a credit to our ambitious, determined and hard working students and the dedication and professionalism of our teachers.

Ashbourne embraces a friendly, informal and adult approach to learning, much like a university, which we believe encourages independent thinking, discipline and high expectations. Lessons are taught in small groups of fewer than ten students which allows teachers to focus on individual student’s needs, provide valuable feedback and set more assignments. This small-class environment is ideal for students to fully engage with the topics and develop their understanding of the subject. Half-termly mock exams help students and teachers assess progress and identify areas to work on. Exam technique is crucial, we believe, to getting the best results.

Each A level student is assigned a dedicated Personal Tutor who provides individual academic and pastoral support and guidance throughout their time at Ashbourne, which includes expert careers advice and one-to-one UCAS support, from choosing the right course, interview practice all the way to accepting the best offer. We also offer specialised university application programmes for competitive courses such as Medicine and Engineering and entry to Oxford and Cambridge Universities.

Students can choose from an excellent range of A level subject choices, without restriction, and course types including Two-year A level courses, One-year A level courses, 18-month A level courses, A level Easter Revision courses and GCSE courses.

Ashbourne is situated in a beautiful part of London next to Kensington Palace and Hyde Park close to a wide variety of world-famous cultural attractions including museums, theatres, galleries, institutions and libraries. We attract students from all over the world making the college a vibrant, diverse and exciting place to learn.

Ashbourne is a fee-paying school but we also offer a limited number of scholarships to highly gifted and talented students.

Why Choose Ashbourne College?
StudentsParentsTeachers
What I like about Ashbourne is that everyone is enveloped into the really close-knit family, regardless of race or background. The teaching goes beyond simply imparting skills and knowledge, but also extends to encouraging and inspiring students, which makes learning a lot more enjoyable. The amount of passion that everyone has and the amount of individual attention the college gives to every student creates a pleasant and stimulating environment. Ashbourne has exceeded my expectations in so many ways, and I have really enjoyed my time here in the college

If I had to describe Ashbourne in three words it would be welcoming, intimate, and fun. I have never met such an eclectic group of people who all get on and are integrated with each other so well. It’s a great opportunity to get the grades that you want alongside gaining confidence and maturity
