In early December 2008, Ashbourne arranged an ice skating trip for its students. Two members of Ashbourne’s administration staff accompanied five students to Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland. After college lessons finished, the students took a short break before walking through Kensington Gardens to Hyde Park.
The group skated for an hour (at varying standards!) on the outdoor rink specially set up for the Christmas period. There were no major casualties and (almost everyone) managed to stay upright! After this the group warmed up with some hot chocolate and explored the other Winter Wonderland attractions, including stalls, games and fairground rides. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Hopefully more students will join next year.
